Rapid Growth of China's Import and Export
of Machinery & Electronic Products

China's import and export of machinery & electronic products recorded a 240% increase and maintained sustained
and stable growth in the nineteen nineties, and reached US$ 110 billion in 1996.

China's machinery & electronic products export has outdone the country's total export in growth rate in six successive years. Its
share in the country's total export has risen to 32% in 1996 from 18% in 1990.And its status as China's largest export category
remains.
